Held in August each year, the Avon Descent has been running for over 30 years and is a supreme challenge of the Avon and Swan Rivers in a variety of paddle and power craft in an exciting and spectacular two-day time trial over 133 gruelling kilometres. Last years race saw the river's highest water levels in decades which made for some exciting racing watched by thousands of spectators.

This white water decent offers participants conditions ranging from long stretches of flat water through to white water rapids, sure to test the skills of all who attempt to navigate their contours.

The descent is all about excitement and is the complete challenge for all those intrepid people who love to pit themselves against the roughest and most challenging conditions that nature can throw up.
