Meet director, Naomi Jarvis, has designed a short course (1.8 km) and a long course (4.4 km) for you to try. Registration and start go from 10 am to 1 pm. Naomi is also offering to provide free ski lessons at 11 am. Naomi provided some additional information that you may want to check out: the following web page lists places where you can rent equipment, in addition to the concession at Laurel Ridge: http://www.paccsa.org/ski-gear-where-rent-or-buy also the following page gives some info on what to wear: http://paccsa.org/yellowjackets/equipment (it is aimed at kids but also applies to adults).
The map fee is the usual $5. There is an additional trail use fee that needs to be paid to the concession ($8 for people age 13 and older; $4 for 12 and under). If you are renting equipment from the concession, the cost is $20 for age 13 and older, $10 for age 12 and younger. There is no charge for instruction in using the map and compass and no charge for instruction in cross country skiing from Naomi - try to come at 10 am if you need the ski equipment and instruction.
