Nav-X is excited to be offering a free NAV-X Map Trekking training course in the beautiful Trione-Annadel State Park, located in eastern Santa Rosa. Heidi Cusworth designed the course and Bill Cusworth has been working on the map for months, with the hope we could make it work during what has been a crazy 2020. This event was supposed to start Oct. 1 but we had to delay as the Glass Fire burned a section of the park and it just reopened.
37 checkpoints are marked on a brand new Lidar-based map of the park - you have 2 or 4 hours to try and get to as many as you can. We will be using a new Smartphone app named “MapRunF” to record your visit to each checkpoint (or a Garmin watch app named MapRunG). The app will record a “punch” automatically using your GPS position.
Since this is the first event using MapRunF, we have decided not to charge any entry fees. Though, if you enjoy the course, and would like to make a donation on PayPal, you can send money to “info@navXchallenge.org”.
All the instructions including directions to the Start are in the website link below. Be safe and have fun!
