In order to stave off imminent invasion from King Minos of Crete, each year Athens must sacrifice a group of men and women to a Minotaur who lives in a Labyrinth.  Theseus, son of Aegeus, king of Athens, volunteers to go, hoping he will be able to kill the Minotaur and end the sacrifices.  Even if he succeeds in his quest to kill the beast, how will he find  his way out of the Labyrinth?  Princess Ariadne, daughter of King Minos, who has fallen in love with Theseus gives him a string to unravel as he winds his way through the maze-like structure.  Our labyrinth will be South Hammond State Forest (44.388448, -75.722857) in St. Lawrence County, with towering cliffs, extensive boulder fields, marshes and ponds which you must navigate.  You can very easily find yourself on the wrong level or the wrong side of a body of water.  And you'll need plenty of string if you're going to find your way out in time.
