The Oyster is an urban adventure race with the same idea as a wilderness eco challenge/Amazing Race, but set in a city and is conducted in one day. The race is conducted on a mystery course and provides multiple racing options to satisfy all endurance levels. The Oyster course will circumnavigate the host city and its surrounding areas, focusing on area attractions and landmarks. The course starts and ends at the transition area, a.k.a TA as we call it. All racers must complete each leg of the course correctly, using the correct mode of transportation. Since the course is a secret, team members will be given a “Passport” moments before the race begins. Passports will indicate the Check Point destinations and the goal will be to reach each “Check Point” as quickly as possible using the designated mode of transportation. Traditional, Relay and Half teams will alternate between bike and foot, Shooter racers will only travel by foot. Public transportation is always a legal means of transportation, however cabs and private cars are illegal. Swimming is not a listed discipline but we do reserve the right to get racers wet. Any additional gear needed for the race will be provided by the race. Get ready to try The Oyster. Weird name, great race!
