farewell dear Gilling woods. HR seemed very high the whole way round, had to do a few manual checks on the way round as I didn't believe the watch. watch was right hmmm maybe still a bit ill. lots of owls about. tried the brooks shoes and they were pretty good on the trails, nice and comfy if a bit slippy in the muddier bits.

up early to attempt 5 x 1km but felt terrible terrible terrible, managed about 3.45 for 3 reps then sacked it in. just felt really tired and achy (including my shoulders?!?). have been under a bit of pressure at work trying to finish things off + lack of sleep but not long left now :-)

Ayton Moor O. Really enjoyable course and area, although some controls were a bit visible. Reasonably clean, apart from tweaking my ankle up onto 4. Windy! Didn't feel too strong in the terrain but chesty cough appears to be almost cleared up now.
Sneaked ahead of Duncan, which makes a nice change from him giving me an absolute stuffing.

Farewell run round Gilling. Lovely frozen wonderland, temperature dropped by 4 degrees between York and Gilling. Calves getting a good battering in these shoes. Felt quite leggy, which is unsurprising given illness etc. Nearly over the chesty infection now, only could feel rumbling on my chest when I breather in really deeply.
