Reccying with Malley around the general Patterdale area. Legs initially not happy but not too bad by the end. Lots of stops and not much uphill.

Three Shires

Don't particularly want to dwell on this race as there weren't many positives. Had been kind of kidding myself all week that my legs were okay and had recovered from Skye but by half way up Weatherlam I knew that that wasn't the case. Top in 39:30 so same as when me and Horton ran together two years ago. That would mean running a good rest of the race but as soon as I started on Swirl How I knew that was not going to happen. Struggled to run any of it. Legs like rock and so tight absolutely everywhere. Would have like to have binned it at Wrynose to save myself for Whernside but I don't have that in me. Suffered through to the end and can't say I enjoyed watching Pete and Malley running away from me knowing I could've been with them. No idea how I made it up Lingmoor and it certainly wasn't pretty.

Ahh well - performance is totally understandable and I'm well aware I'm much fitter than this. Before Skye I was feeling great and on Skye hills were like flats! Going to rest up and hopefully right some wrongs next weekend so that I can select myself for the blooming relays. So chuffed for Malley getting the win - Ambleside looking strong at the moment :)

Had the place to myself which was odd after the chaos on Tuesday but guess it was nice outside. Pretty tired from tues so just a short one. Took a while but got into it

Sharpener before the weekend.

5" (2), 3 x 2" (90s), 2 x 1" (1).

Still need a good stretch but feeling fairly good, despite the monsoon.

Lots of extra stretching, rolling of the calves, calf exercises and hockey balling my hips.
