Concrete/road run (Easy run) 36:00 3.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
Ran a hilly neighborhood route. Still some knee pain. I pushed a bit harder on this run in an attempt to work on increasing the speed of easy runs.
Weight training (Weights) 30:00
Muscles still are stiff so I increased reps and decreased weight so that I didn’t pull any muscles. Also did stretching.
Thanks for the call. I’ll send an email with the links to the races for 2019. Hope you got your tree. I definitely feel like we’re the Griswalds. I’ve never seen the movies but no reason to watch it when you live it. We put rope lights on our bikes to be festive. Riding around our neighborhood was a true Griswald event.
You should get a package around Wednesday directly from a manufacturer. Hopefully you get as much use from this as we do.
Trail Run long (Long run) 2:00:00 9.25 mi (12:58 / mi)
I decided to run trail. I just wanted the softer surface for my knee. It was soft with the rain over the past 2 days. Two different places would have required me to run in heavy mud and get my feet wet. Couldn’t bring myself to do it and ran other pieces of trail. I got tired at 90 minutes but finished strong. The only concerning item is my right knee. Pain moves around. It’s hard to tell if it is IT band or knee or both. It hurts more on downhills but I’m not convinced. I’ll bike more which should help.
Concrete/road run (W fartleks) 53:00 4.5 mi (11:47 / mi)
First run after the race and it was ok. Fartleks got better each time and by the end, I was running as usual.
