Running 29:00 [3] 4.0 mi (7:15 / mi)
shoes: ASICS Gel Hyper Speed 6

Was going to do the Linwood Parkrun and did a lap of the course as a warm up but the outside of my left calf was a bit sore so decided to be sensible and go for a steady run on the trails while Mrs P did her volunteering. I tweaked my calf yesterday when the chain on my bike slipped on the middle ring when I was standing on the pedals going up a hill. One of the things I need to fix on the bike, however with the better weather coming in I'll probably switch from my cheap and cheerful Decathlon winter bike to my Boardman.

12 PM

Running 45:00 [3] 4.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Excursion TR8

Found myself at the Cochno Road car park at lunchtime with my running kit in the truck so decided to go for an easy recovery run up to the top of Cochno Hill . Not feeling very good today - back to the sair heid and feeling crap, so took it very easy. A lovely day with the sun shining and patches of snow on the ground but not many views due to the haze. Choice of shoe not ideal but I was planning to run on the gravel paths in Overtoun or from the depot.
4 PM

Road Bike 1:10:00 [3] 15.0 mi (4:40 / mi)

Cycle home from work.

Road Bike 1:10:00 [3] 15.0 mi (4:40 / mi)

Cycle to work. Cold north-easterly wind in my face most of the way to and over the Erskine Bridge.
7 PM

Running warm up/down 11:00 [3] 1.5 mi (7:20 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Warm up before track session.

Running intervals 35:00 [5] 5.0 mi (7:00 / mi)
shoes: Asics Gel Hyper Speed 4

Track session at Linwood track on a cold and windy evening. Session was 8 x 800m (90secs jog recovery - 200m). Struggled a bit at the start then picked it up okay. Prefer the jog recoveries to the standing recoveries.

Running warm up/down 11:00 [3] 1.5 mi (7:20 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Cool down run round nearby streets.

12 PM

Running 34:00 [3] 4.3 mi (7:54 / mi)
shoes: Kalenji Kiprun Trail XT6

Run from work to the Lomondgate SUDs pond, a few laps and back.

Just discovered that, due to a number of call-offs I'm in the Kilbarchan 1st team for the National Road Relays on Sunday, along with Quinn, Hawkins and other speedy youngsters. For a laugh they've put me on Leg 6, the long leg. Oh shit!

Tuesday Mar 21 #

Note

Felt fairly tired so decided to try and be sensible and did bugger all today.

Monday Mar 20 #

7 PM

Running warm up/down 15:00 [3] 1.7 mi (8:49 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Warm up before intervals with the athletic club.

Running intervals 39:00 [5] 6.0 mi (6:30 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Interval session on the trails at the back of Linwood Sports Centre. Tough session - 2 x ((5mins (1min) + 4mins (1min) + 3mins (1min) + 2mins (1min) + 1min (1min)). Running quite well and new shoes felt good. Managed to avoid the rain storms and the wind even died away.

Running warm up/down 11:00 [3] 1.5 mi (7:20 / mi)
shoes: Mizuno Wave Connect 3

Cool down run.
