Shortened interval session with the athletic club on the paths on Linwood Moss. Only did 6 x 3mins (90secs) as I was tired from the weekend and I need to save something for Saturday so Callum doesn't lap me!

A long warm up before Sprint Champs Race 1. Needed this 'cos a very strange thing happened during the night - I slept for 9 hours! The first time I've slept this long for years and it made me very sluggish.

Scottish Sprint Champs Race 1 - Oakenhead, Lossiemouth. For a sprint race with Emit this was really quite enjoyable! Started with Drew from MAROC who went off like a bat out of hell to the same No 1 as me. I got to the control in oxygen debt a few seconds behind him and had to ease off after this!

Went left between 1 and 2 in case I missed the path to the right. In retrospect I should have gone right as I lost some time on this leg.

All else okay except I overshot No 6 and ended up on the path beyond the control, looked back and saw it. Lost about 15 seconds.

Managed to win a close race with Reiver.

Sprint Champs Race 2 - Lossiemouth.

More of an urban race than Race 1 with a nice bit in an old quarry. A bit of a slow start then I got going and all went well.

Went right between 4 and 5 when I should have doubled back past 3.

Surprised how much time I gained on Reiver between 5 and 6 when I went to the right-hand path out of the quarry which in retrospect looks like the longer option, but I went that way as it was the way I came in to the quarry.

Managed another win to win the sprint champs overall. Me and Reiver seem to be equal in the short urban sections of the sprint races with the result being decided on the longer route choice legs.

In spite of me not enjoying / taking sprint and score events seriously I find myself the Scottish Score and Sprint Champions!

It has also been a strange start to the 2017 season with 3 score events, 3 urban / sprint events and only 1 normal event so far.

Inverness Parkrun. 3 laps of the grass round the perimeter of the Bught Park. The wind was against us on the slight uphill half of each lap which was hard work. Took it fairly steady and finished well down in a very competitive field.

Track session at Linwood Track. Was supposed to be doing a long session but I was the only person from our group to turn up and I wasn't feeling very great so opted for 12 x 400m (1min). Plodded round and felt better for doing it.

Was hoping to get out for a terrain run at lunchtime but work got in the way. Went out for a run round the Oilfields, Craigends and Ardgryffe staying on the grass as much as possible.
