Calf still tight again this morning. I think I am going to lay off running completely for the next 7-10 days, then assess. In the meantime, I can get some Fred training in, though would much prefer to be running.

Got kitted up for a morning run, but calf noticeably very tight after a couple of strides. Frustrating as it doesn't feel like a usual calf strain. Hard to know whether better to rest completely or just run every other day, or just ignore the pain (as I did yesterday).

Excellent long ride home via Pocklington and Thixendale. Lovely evening despite the wind, though it was desperately cold once the sund dropped.

Castle Howard run. Felt awful on this. Calf tightened up immediately and felt generally wobbly. Came very close to sacking it after 5-6kms, but decided to push on. Calf pain eventually eased off but still felt rubbish. Horrible running conditions too - really warm, windy and (later) wet. Objectively, pace was fine and didn't tire that much, but it's all a bit frustrating given how well jan and feb went. I have decided not to risk Edale, which isn't a huge disappointment.
