Nice family run at Loch Ardinning with Emma, Alice and Dad. Had been here once before a long time ago so it was essentially new to me: it is pretty nice, although the 'paths' in the woods were tough going. Legs a bit sore from yesterday, although nowhere near as bad as I feared (and extra glad I borrowed those cycling shorts now), but still happy to stay in formation with the others.

Cycling 3:31:11 intensity: (30:00 @1) + (2:20:00 @2) + (41:11 @3)

77.7km (+1107m)

Not injured or anything, just wanted to do something a bit different and so gave Emma some company on her long cycle out to Carron Valley. Was pretty unsure how I'd fare, considering my longest cycle for the past few years is pretty much the 4km from the gym to Kings, but actually felt okay the whole way, although I do expect sore muscles tomorrow. We also got caught in few pretty heavy showers, but I think I preferred this to doing it a few days ago in the heat and dying a slow, painful, sweaty death.

Emma took the lead for much of it, but turns out she (with her cycling experience and a good road bike) and I (who's maybe done a bit more running, but less cycling and was on my city bike I've used for getting around Edinburgh) were not a terrible match in speeds. I enjoyed it at any rate, and I would tentatively say that I could potentially be convinced to do another ride in the future.

Got lift to the bottom of the 356 but opted just to pootle home through Mugdock. Felt okay, but want to be nice and fresh for tomorrow.

Tried out the local MapRun. Felt absolutely terrible, but once I'd started I had to see it out. Nav was fine (although I do slightly know the area) but maybe time to do some faster running again.

Rather uninspired again, so just cut about fairly randomly seeing where the wind took me.

To Cochno solo, to The Slacks and back with Em and Al, and then home again solo. A great day to be out and about, an idea that much of Drumchappel had clearly also had, meaning the hills were fairly busy at times (by Kirkpatricks standards). Still, always nice to get told by several, separate groups of old women how fit we all must be to be running so fast.

Various paths around Garscadden Woods. Almost missing the parkrun here.
