shoes: Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 32 blue

40 min run
Roll & stretch
-This was nice and refreshing. After sitting inside in lectures today I was super happy to be out in the warm! I went to Nosehill the long way so a lot of this was uphill which was killing me. Picked it up towards the end because my legs were feeling great. Foot a bit hard/swollen afterwards but manageable. Really enjoyable today

-Just shaking yesterdays bus ride out of my legs. Legs felt decent considering racing followed by years on a bus! Got really good roll & stretch in afterwards

Calves separated and feet worked on a tad
-This was also a decent season opener. I was super fatigued going into this. Had over 10hrs of sleep then a tea in the morning and I still felt like a zombie. Took a caffeine pill like 1.5h before the race and it didn't really do anything. I think my body was just dead from the combination of getting over sickness and the 1k. Pushed the fatigue out of my mind for the race. Again went out somewhat conservatively. Splits were 30and 62.5ish. Was tin second last at 200 and 4th at 400. Moved into 3rd with like 150 to go. Was making up the gap to 2nd but ran out of track. Should have started kicking a little sooner I think. I was pretty lactic and heavy at like 400 but not suuuuper terrible. I was tired afterwards but not nearly as dead as the previous day. Overall I think a good opener - fastest 600 opener to date I believe. A few more 600 specific practices in my legs and another race or 2 and I should be feeling good! Again I'm really happy with how I ran tactically - I was really patient and worked my way up. Lots of people told me afterwards that I ran really smart which is always nice to hear. Good start to the season and a few things to work on!
