East relays XC - 2nd team overall nice one!!!!
Started about 15ish seconds behind the central A team and with some boys pretty close chasing - started nicely running a bit scared from the guys behind, keeping it under control but kept glimpsing the central boy. Hard to gauge it but I think it seemed to be the same gap over the first bit. Then hit some nice straight tracks, could proper try to reel him in. Looked behind me, nobody there - could just focus on chasing now then!

Finally hit the technical section and that was then I noticed it the gap was really closing - used those orienteering tekkers to the max and popped out the trees 12 or so seconds down. Final km burning around a field, couple of hills and a bit of mud. He was grinding out now and the gap was getting close. Finished feeling pretty spend but pretty happy. Think I was about 8s down. Good do get a decent result on the board early season, shape was a big unknown as I haven’t started the winter training yet. Good to see I won’t be starting on Monday from 0.

Solid result from the team, holding 2nd place from first leg all the way to the end. Good work from Jack holding off the fast boys at the end too! Scott was getting well close!

Yaldi.

Classic seat with boys. Except I missed the boys. So initially with girls and then caught the boys.
