Euuugh think I've been ill for a week or so now but not really admitted it... Just gonna be safe from now till British so recovering today.

Went to the gym with a "normal" mate - chest day - he's pretty huge so I sort of killed myself oopsie. Hurtttting a lot now

Race at 18:30.
not allowed on train as bike van was still in the tunnel, haymarket platform to small apparently. Told I HAD to get the next train and had to go to Waverley.
Worked out the next virgin train would be to late so have to spent another £25 on the only other option, due to arrive in Manchester at 17:30.
Train finally arrives after being delayed in sight of the platform.
Arrive at the track, just make the 15min limit to register.
Finish putting spikes on, numbers on, run a couple of strides and am called up to race.
Went out on pace for a 8:35ish sort of thing but really started to crumble and die on the last km. Been pretty phlegmy the past week so fair enough I think. The middle km wasn't the best either! With all the train business my eating had been screwed up to, one small bowl of podge, two bananas and an apple for my late race haha.
1st track race in two years so was pretty nervous about how it was all going to go. Nice to get a decent enough early season benchmark, plenty more to come from this season I think ;)

Bit short but had a train to catch! Legs will feel this tomorrow I think... Was good fun and a reasonably high quality race! Think I'll try get down for a couple more of these
