Tuesday Jun 30

Running 1:01:23 [4] 11.15 km (5:30 / km)
Delburn:- arvo session with Kathyrn. We both had ideas about what we wanted to do and ended up being a bit of a strange session and not sure what it focused on.
25mins w.u
10 reps of 200m downhill, turnaround then 200m uphill with about 45secs walk recovery.
It was getting dark towards the end so hopefully that was responsible for the reps getting much slower towards the end.

Monday Jun 29

Running 38:52 [3] 6.85 km (5:40 / km)
Delburn:- evening run with kathryn. Knee and achilles ok but it was only short.
Strength work 20:00 [3]
First time in a while- have to get stronger for Primal Quest

Sunday Jun 28

Kayaking long 3:39:00 [3] 32 km (6:51 / km)
Brunton's bridge to Cowarr Weir:- another good trip down the Thompson with Jarad, David (kickarse 15yo paddler), Brendon Grail and Maccabags. It was a cold and foggy morning as per usual and I wore an extra later or two from last time I paddled 2month ago. Jarad had indicated he was going to "Time trial and wouldn't be waiting for anyone" so we got a quick head start on him and enjoyed the first hour in peace.
I had decided to paddle my Icon ski rather than a plastic endorfinn. Boy did a regret it. I really didn't remember it being so rocky but perhaps that was because I was in an endorfinn and didn't care. Or perhaps my brain was just frozen. Anyhow I had to nurse it through most of the rapids and left a white trail of destruction (fibreglass) down the river. The boat is probably a bit long and I didn't make it around plenty of tight corners.
Jarad and Dave ended up paddling off, and I waited for Brendon who started to struggle a bit. I could tell the boat was getting a bit heavy and it was quite tough for the last 30mins. And by the time we finished i could hardly pull the boat out of the water. There was at least 20 or 30litres in it and a nice little hole in the bottom, and a split it the side. Damn. Hopefully I've learned my lesson- paddle someone elses boat, Jarads if possible.
It was a glorious Gippsland day- beautiful and sunny. The gorge is so deep you don't get to see much sunlight but when you do its beautiful.

MTB Cycling 1:22:00 [3] 25 km (3:17 / km)
Tyers:- I had at bike in the car so couldn't waste the rest of the day so parked at Tyers and went for a ride before it got dark. Basically rode the Harriers running loop backwards with a few extra bits of exploring. The first 20mins is uphill, mostly on tar, but then plenty of good fast descending. I felt quite good so really pumped all the hills. Nice area and nice evening.
