Road Run 29:53
Steady round the Garscube estate during junior training. Right knee still a bit sore.
Rest day with a slightly sore right year after the end of the first half of the orienteering year.
The JK and SOL 4 were high points, the British was a low point, but generally I was pleased with my navigation in the daylight (but not in the dark at the Scottish or British Night Champs) but less pleased with my speed through the terrain. Disappointed for T and E that all the hard work which earned them 4th and 3rd=, respectively, in the UK O League wasn't rewarded by the GBR selectors.
Orienteering race 44:02 5.6 km (7:52 / km)
Scottish Relay Championships 2017, Binning Woods, leg 1 for CLYDE on handicap 14+ (5.6 km) in 44:02. Brisk run on first leg, but gradually overtaken by a slightly brisker pack of girls and flagged slightly after a small wobble at number 12. Tough climb on the short loop after the spectator control.
Orienteering race 1:19:47 9.8 km (8:08 / km) +130m 7:38 / km
Scottish Individual Championships 2017, Gullane, M50L (9.8 km, 130 m) in 79:47. Silly wobble at number 2 (- 2:00?), but steady thereafter and pleased to keep going pretty well on a physically and mentally draining area. Shame about the misplaced control (not even in the circle!) and the dodgy control description, but I don't think either had a big effect of the final outcome.
Terrain Run 40:00
Walk/jog to start and from finish.
Rest day before the Scottish Championships.
Terrain Run 54:46
Steady round the usual Whangie loop in a gloriously sunny evening with Alice in 54:46.
