Orienteering race (Brisbane Club Event) 44:55 [4] *** 4.24 km (10:36 / km) +112m 9:21 / km
spiked:18/20c shoes: Altra Lone Peak 3.5

Pretty warm bush event. Taking it pretty easy. Need to get proper O shoes as the current ones have got too tight, so keep slipping over. Didn't lose too much time but slow going.

Run long (Girraween NP) 2:13:00 [3] 14.72 km (9:02 / km) +605m 7:30 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 22 (Black)

Amazing granite area. Balancing boulders 20m high and lots of bare rock running. Started by running up The Pyramid. A steep bare rock mountain with sweet views from the top. Highly recommend it to anyone. Then ran Granite Arch, Bald Rock Creek trails and back to the car. Loved it so much headed out again south to The Sphinx and Turtle Rock then back via Castle Rock.

Run (Washpool NP) 1:01:00 [3] 8.38 km (7:17 / km) +235m 6:23 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 22 (Black)

Run from Coombadjha campground around Washpool Walk loop including two diversions to some Red Cedars and Summit Creek Falls. Some really nice patches of rainforest.

Orienteering intervals (Southport Spit) 51:00 [3] 7.07 km (7:13 / km) +98m 6:45 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 22 (Black)

Set a sprint O intervals course on what looked like a sweet sand dune map so close to Surfer's Paradise but the map ended up being outdated and there were so many thick sections. 10% of it is awesome but 90% not really runnable.

Apparently map is on reserve for a NOL or similar but will have to wait for a fire or something before that ever happens.

Run long (Bally Mountain) 2:25:00 [4] 13.77 km (10:32 / km) +891m 7:57 / km
shoes: Innov-8 X-Talon 212

A few tempo hills. First one about 300m then back down the other side into Austinville Valley. Needed to bush bash at the bottom to cross river and get to track. Then another 300m climb back out and a final 300m up Bally Mountain from the less-tracked south. Really hard work coming down as its so steep. Kept slipping over and having to grab trees to prevent sliding to fast down. Such a great area.

Run (Tamborine NP) 1:29:00 [3] 12.41 km (7:10 / km) +266m 6:29 / km
shoes: Asics Kayano 22 (Black)

Nice rainforest trails linking sections of Tamborine National Park. First McDonald (all to myself), Palm Grove (a few bushwalkers) then Curtis Falls (packed with tourists).
