Tried to find somewhere a little more 'on plan' in terms of the ascent. Failed.

Ran out from the house up the miner's track and onwards to Coledale Hause. Took the trod on the Whiteside side to Grasmoor summit then back on the Wandope side to Eel Crag. Down to the gap at Stair then dropped further down to Rigg beck and the steep trod up onto Ard Crags. Down this and then around on the roadside tracks to Braithwaite and home.

Felt really good. Feel like I cheated a bit by running after lunch rather than after breakfast. Too much food in the system!

Moderate 60'

Gauged the effort back a touch. Still found that I was getting to the faster end of pace without feeling uncomfortable or with undue effort.

Foot felt completely fine during the run. No issues with it at all. Odd that I can only feel it when I walk about or stop running. Would be completely content with that if it stays like that for the rest of my life!

Ran out along the road into Keswick, chucked in a couple of laps of Fitz Park, working on my dodgeball skills to weave between the zombies, and came back the way I'd ran out.

Road cycling 2:10:13 [3]

Hill reps (bike) 47.63km w/ 1,234m asc.

Explored some of the local trails out towards Beck Wythop and back around through Lorton into Whinlatter. Plenty of good, steep and quiet climbs far from the madding crowd in the pass.

Did a couple of loops each of 3 main climbs, riding between them to recover between efforts (6/10 RPE for each climb - give or take).

I'm still not happy with my foot. It feels a touch tender when I push through on the pedals. Still totally fine when hopping but I'm not hopeful of the way it's going. Maybe it's just that scar tissue type of feeling that comes back every now and then?

SE 2hrs 30'

Ran a bit longer than planned and included a lot of steep climbs, which led to doing a lot more vert than planned too.

Didn't push the climbs hard at all, legs a bit tired from yesterday, but ran the flats and downhills relatively quickly. Fully fuelled for the time out, a couple of flapjack type things and a gel (approximately 800 kcal). Didn't immediately feel the benefits of the food but I imagine I'd have definitely known about it had I had nothing at all!

Bit concerned that the soreness in my left foot has reared its head a bit. Nothing sore or problematic on the run but had noticed it very slightly yesterday and again very slightly today. It's noticeable after the run and into this afternoon / evening. I can hop on the foot totally fine and think it might just be a bit of aggravation and nothing more.

30' uphill tempo

Usual route from the village along to Stoneycroft beck and as far up Stair as I could get in the time. Went out in the afternoon when, according to the forecast, the wind would have died down and the sun would be out. It was 100% wrong in those instances. At least it was only a headwind at the top.

Ran hard but controlled for as much as I could, though that last section of snake-hip switchbacks to the summit of Stair was a bit ragged. Got to the top in a little under 28' so ran hard over the top and into the techy climb up onto Eel Crag.

Really pleased with how things felt. Feel pretty in tune with effort now and how certain sessions should feel (though still need to work on the 'moderate' intensity).

Jogged very easily down the way I'd come til just below the hause between Stair and Scar Crags; bobbed down direct into Coledale from there and took the miner's track til the road and back in from there.

Easy 60' w/ hill sprints

Ran back from Keswick via Portinscale and Stair to do hill sprints on the steep bit by Stoneycroft beck.

Nice and quiet out...wonder why? Beautiful weather, pretty warm but the wind's picking up a bit and coming from the north-east so should be fresh tomorrow by the feel of it.

Felt good, took the time to warm-up into the hill sprints properly. Felt good on each one of them. Trot back home via the Newlands road.
