shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

The reservoir alpaca loop is becoming a firm favourite for easy days. Wanted to do something hillier but hip flexors felt awful after yesterday. Hurt more to run uphill so kept things relatively flat. A few strides thrown in as well to try and loosen off

Road Running 16:24 [5] 5.0 km (3:17 / km)

Scottish uni's 5000m. Set off at 16 pace to see how long I could hold on. Main aim was to not get lapped by Jonny (failed miserably on that count). Running with Jonnie Nisbet the whole way swapping places. He was a bit stronger and pulled away near the end. Happy enough with a pb off no real specific training. Got me a shiny (and not entirely deserved) bronze medal though

Road Running 12:34 [2] 1.69 mi (7:26 / mi)

Road Running 11:24 [4] 3.0 km (3:48 / km)

3k steeple. A good laugh. Only 4 running and it was quickly obvious that 2 guys were much quicker than me and 1 was a lot slower so cruised round. Did really badly on the water jump each time but didn't matter and got another (even less deserved) Bronze medal

5X3mins on Howden Glen. Harry Gilmore was doing reps on there and the hill next to it as well so had somebody to chase on a couple of them. Bit of a slog into the wind today

Feeling good after yesterday off.

Hill Running 1:02:21 [3] 7.41 mi (8:25 / mi) +402m 7:12 / mi
shoes: Inov 8 X-talon 212 #2

Hilly fartlek. About 10 minutes to warm up then 11X1 minute with 1 minute easier running recovery. Meant to do 10 but lost count. A mixture of uphill and flatter running on both the reps and recoveries. Session finished on top of Allermuir after having climbed up to Bonaly reservoir then along. Ran along to Hillend then home avoiding the cows since they were making a lot of noise today for some reason.
