Legs a little stiff and very achy today, however not sore. Walked/hiked up little man Skiddaw, Skiddaw and Lonsdale Fell. Jogged the flats and descent. No issues.

On the start line felt confident that i'd do ok. 5 mins into the race and calves aching, breathless, and tired. The women started to come past one by one. I put it down to being a climb and a fell race and that I usually don't do well until i've warmed up, however 10 mins in and realised, it was more than that, , by the time I got up the first climb I think all the women had over taken me. there was nothing left in my legs, no power, and the breathlessness was chronic. Even running the flat parts, I was having trouble lifting legs, tripping up and managed a couple of falls. So took off racing head, and resigned myself to a faster training day than I would have if it was not a race. So in terms of training, good day out on tired legs, in terms of a race, probably one that i'd rather forget, however pleased to have kept going and not DNF or RTD.
