Trail Run 2:02:00 10.85 mi (11:15 / mi)
I think a break from Bobcat Ridge was in order, and the only other free options really are Devils Backbone and Coyote Ridge, neither are that appealing, particularly because of the hoards of people that would be there. So I decided to drop $120 and get a Larimer County parks pass to open up many new "free" options. Decided to try a new place, Pinewood Reservoir. Started running at 8am, few people out, but it got busier, but not bad. Ran everything twice, the Shoshone trail has got some good climb. Didn't feel overly fast, but it was a good run.
Cyclo-X 2:11:00 29.62 mi (4:25 / mi)
Used the X-bike with half flat tires to make it a slow ride. Nice day, the throngs of people out on the trail was annoying. Started to tire at the end with the head wind, the up hill, the slow bike, and the amount of time I'd been out.
Hike 25:00 2.5 mi (10:00 / mi)
Not a real workout, just a walk around the east trail.
Roller Ski Classic 1:01:00 9.13 mi (6:41 / mi)
Parked at Funplex, did the usual stuff. The back wheels are definitely faster than the other wheels, that meant that one slight downhill to a road crossing got a little sketchy, so I decided not to go to the traffic circle as coming back would definitely mean bailing into the grass before the road crossing at the bottom. New wheels should be on their way, hopefully they will be the slow ones. I didn't specifically ask for the slow ones, but I told them the exact model of skis, so they should know its the slow wheels.
Trail Run 1:00:00 5.88 mi (10:12 / mi)
Trail Run 26:24 4.0 mi (6:36 / mi)
Its been far too long since I've done intervals. Went to J-Jones and put together a grassy course with a couple punchy hills. The course started at the playground, west on the trail, around the pond on the grass, back on the same trail heading west, then right turn to head back to the big cottonwoods north of the playground, and back around the playground. Had to do the pond loop a second time and most of the trail to get 1 mile on the nose. The grass is very slow to run on. Pushed it hard, felt pretty good, but not awesome. Times were 6:38, 35, 35, 36. On a few I had to slightly modify the course to avoid people on the trail or city workers on the grass.
Road Bike 1:00:00 14.62 mi (4:06 / mi)
Out and around the J-Jones neighborhood and back.
Roller Ski Classic 1:32:00 13.8 mi (6:40 / mi)
Put the back wheels from the old V2's on, they are coned pretty bad so they don't track the best, so I had to put more weight on the right leg than the left. At least I'm out there. V2 said they'll replace the wheels under warranty. Headed east from red barn to the fishing ponds, then up Sheeps draw to a bit past the funplex and back. Nice day, many people out, maybe 10% wore masks, saw a couple large multi-family groups. About 15-35 new reported cases everyday in Weld county for the past three weeks and who knows how many that are undocumented/unreported/asymptomatic. Its still really prevalent in this county as it has the highest rate of any populous county in CO, but close to nobody seems to be aware of that, or at least acting like its the case. Maybe I'm just a nervous nellie?
I've been focused on cleaning the house over the past week and a half. I had been wondering where my OCAD 9 CD went that bbrooke sent me back in 2009. I found it today on a dusty shelf in my office - next to a video card that got fried due to too much Doom 3. Good thing I found it (the CD, not the dead video card), I may need OCAD sometime this summer. It installed fine, so that is good.
