The running group kids, plus a few others (Doug obviously), were going to run the T-trot course today as a preview for tomorrow. I decided to join them as I had a lot of training to do today. I broke Doug's heart like I always do when I said I wouldn't be racing tomorrow. Knee is not well enough to race. Besides, if I did race, I'd only get 1.5 hours of training in for the two days. That's not going to cut it when I need to do ~2 hours per day this week. Knee bugged me a little, so no running tomorrow. Actually had a conversation with the Highschooler, who's running in the 15's now for 5 km, he said he only had an "all right" XC season. He's only 16, so I think his expectation are a little high. I think his English has improved a lot, maybe why he's more chatty.

Made sure the roller ski course is free of ice/snow all the way around. The couple of patches there shouldn't be a problem. Then did more around Reservoir Rd, then to KS for a couple of things. HRM not reading right, I'm sure the average was in the 120s.

Snow didn't burn off quite as much as I'd hoped, so road run really the only option from the house. Around Glenmere, then around campus. Knee felt fine.

Not the best weather today. 25F freezing rain, snow when you're lucky. The NWS considered the precipitation as "undefined" at one point. 3mm of ice on the sidewalks, roads mostly just wet, but some ice. Thought the best thing to do was to hit J-Jones for a short run. Stiff wind and cold rain on the face not the most fun, but it gave way to snow for the last 15 min, so not quite as bad. Knee felt fine but didn't want to push it.

Quick work a little early so could get a run in before the curtain of darkness fell. I was concerned that running may aggravate my knee, but I took it easy and I think it actually was good for it as it stretched it out (maybe). Ran around campus, focusing on the new UC. The interior is not complete, but the outside is done. Hopefully it will be worth the cost.
