Mixed trail road running 1:10:01 14.06 km (4:59 / km) +266m 4:33 / km
Afternoon run from Kingswells to hazlehead and countesswells and down over kingshill to head home. Recovery pace - calf quite achy to start with but didn't get any worse and the pain wasn't too bad.
After a rainy morning, it was nice to be out with the sun shining and with Robbie keeping me company on the MTB.
Mixed trail road running warm up/down 14:28 3.01 km (4:48 / km) +3m 4:47 / km
Calf/soleus muscles bit achy during the warm up.
Trail running 41:27 9.95 km (4:10 / km) +62m 4:02 / km
Started steady with Marie Baxter by my side but I think by the time we turned onto the trail she was slightly falling behind. From then to the finish it was pretty much a solo race with Donald from Deeside about 5-10sec in front of me and couldn't hear or see anyone behind me. Quickly felt my energy levels decreasing and my legs were heavy, in particular between 4 to 6k; so although it looks like I didn't run any quicker than 2 years ago, I'm glad I made it to the finish!
The prize for first lady was a hamper bag filled with delicious local products, so chuffed to win it!
Actually no problems with my calf muscles during the race!
Mixed trail road running 43:32 8.51 km (5:07 / km) +119m 4:47 / km
Easy evening run from home to hazlehead, one loop and back - with the headtorch.
Soleus not great but potentially slightly better than previous days.
