running 18:00 [3] 3 km (6:00 / km)
warmup with Kat for a while. Really frosty, and it started to snow as we were running!
orienteering race 35:23 [4] *** 4.5 km (7:52 / km)

night race in cairn wood, it was a 45min score, I knew Id get them all so I didnt even try and get an optimum route I just picked a half semi good route with a few extra climbs and started running.

Only problem was I didnt have my compass which made matters a little more intresting, Cairn Wood can be a little unforgiving even during the day with a compass. Made a mess of the first control when I ran into the wood but managed to come back out onto the path! But got it again well ahead of everyone else.

number 3 was funny when I was leaving it and someone was running in, asking is that the second control... somebody was 500m from where they thought... all the rest was really good I was very amazed at my accuracy running straight and spiking the controls.

Only issue was getting caught in some nasty man eating high brambles. The snow was getting very bad as well, it was just like old times!

I went out and lifted controls afterwards including the unique feature control. Alan 6th in the TrailO world champs Gartside claims it was the first time one of the control features had ever been used. "under a boulder" It was actually a fallen tree with a 2m boulder in its root that was sticking out and the control was palced under it. There was alot of snow now, no sign of any little trails made it alot more intresting!

Intervaller circa 550m löpning-100 sek joggvila, 6 repetitioner i Barnetts eftersom vägarna var jättefrostig. mycketroligt!!
