Out shortly after sunrise to beat the heat. Felt the best I have in ages. Sore quads though - stupid trainer.

Elmo. Even snuck into tempo mode briefly before the HRM yelled at me (I have an alarm set). My back likes tempo much more than it likes plod. Only I'm not fit enough to hold tempo at the moment.

I ended up running this session too, as Mick was off getting poked and prodded. Put myself in rotation because (a) it was my workout too, and (b) we had odd numbers without me. Stayed in the shade with a slight breeze to make it bearable. Drank nearly 2L during and afterwards. Hot!

Road run - up to the pub, service station, supermarket, another pub, school, and back to the lake. Just under 5km. Beautiful crisp morning.

Back was agony for much of the afternoon. Probably not helped by a frustrating turn of events at work. Painful drive home (which took forever), drugs, and couch.

So it seems my key pickup route has grown by nearly 400m with the new Garmin. I'm not sure I ever ran it with the old Garmin, so it may always have been an estimate. I must apologise to the Vivofit, seems I underestimated its ability to determine distance based on plod mode.
