Badminton 1:30:00 [3]

Finally had the time to go to the thursday badminton again (during my last home office stretch gym was closed due to summer holidays). Felt so great to do it again :) Although technique was more than a bit rusty and today I'm feeling quite sore in some places.... but's still one of the best things against stress and frustration I can think of :)
Half of the time solo match with Martin, who's a lot better than I am, later double - wouldn't have been able to survive 90 min. of a solo match anyway...

Tuesday uni-o-training, campus sprint, 2 courses.

First time in the new semester with lots of beginners to explain orienteering to. Also first time orienteering in the dark again for a long time, took me a few controls until I got used to it again, after that I finally find some kind of flow. Physical shape was very bad, which was to be expected after the stress of the last few weeks, the sleep deprivation and everything else. So just took it in a jogging pace and tried to enjoy myself, which went OK - and I found the motivation to do the second course, too.

Regional ranking event, middle distance

Half of the course in sprint style psychatric hospital park, half of it in a wicked complicated little forest with millions of depressions, all in 1:5000-scale which completely threw me of in the forest part.
Due to a project gone bad had to stay with a customer until saturday, left there around 1:30 pm to directly drive to the competition and had my o-kit brought by a friend. Also had a date planned for the evening. Everything together of course meant that my concentration was anywhere but on the course - don't know if the forest part would have gone better otherwise. The way it was, I spend 40 minutes on the 2 km in the forest part, which is totally inacceptable, but was what I was able to do (or not able to do) on that day...
Details:
4) 2 min. because of a pit-stop - yeah, stress makes my stomach react strangely :(
6) Completely missed the crossing where I wanted to change over to another path and got very confused afterwards. Only realized my mistake when I saw the fence. 3:30 lost
7) Just a little extra detour losing direction in between. 40s
8,9) Actually found them with no problem, but was so insecure by now that I went very slowly.
11) Running along the wrong path for a while. 1:10
14) Came far too far south, but at least realized it soon enough. 45s
15) And another direction mistake - managed to have to search I control I already had found once on the way to 6. 45s
17) And another one I could have found smoother. 30s
Total mistakes: 7:20 - in a spint style race, no comment :(
