Due to my current disassociation with the time-and-date based community, the Gogol family held a practice OK picnic at Clinton Lake tonight.
Things started off with some monkeying around on the playground, followed by the potluck. It lacked culinary diversity but was satisfying nonetheless. We did have two types each of barbeque sauce and beer.
The weather was gorgeous, so we hiked out to Saunders Mound. Clementine made it all the way from the trailhead to the top herself. This was on top of a 1+ mile bike ride earlier today. I was impressed. We tried to get down to the shoreline, but once we got close it was a bit steep of a drop for the four of us to tackle. A bit of carrying on my part on the return leg, but only about half of the way total. Worked out well enough that we think we're ready for the real thing next week.

Went to the chiropractor this morning about my back. Upon examination, some hip bone was shifted out of place. This put a nerve in danger of being pinched, so lately my muscles in the area tensed up as a defensive mechanism. He did a few things, and I was in and out in 15 or 20 minutes.
When I got home back back felt a lot better during push-ups. A weird feeling with that exercise had been the main red flag that got me to make an appointment.

Jog in the neighborhood. Tried out running in my sandals for the first time in a while. It really is nice to get out the door with less complicated pedestrial equipment. But my lower calves did finish kind of sore. Further reflection will occur upon waking tomorrow morning.

Strength training in the basement that has windows. And a door. Doesn't sound quite as lame that way.
Anyway, one upside to working out at home now is that I can get things done while warming up. Today, I bundled up some sticks and brought the grass out to the curb.
When I got the actual workout, I was shocked to see I had granted myself a 10 day layoff from strength training. Hubbwah? How did that happen? Oh well. I just decided to not up my reps at all to play it safe. I figure if I hadn't lost progress it would be a win.
Regular routine seemed to go okay. My lower back was a little tender during push-ups though. It's been a little twingy lately. To head off anything I think I might go see the chiropractor who got me back to health last fall.
