Village Greens of Glen Ellyn GC. Cool, windy and overcast. First golf in more than a month. Pretty rusty at the start. Back nine began to take shape, with a bogie on the famous split-fairway #18.

Hustle back to the City, and first June lease signed with a nice new couple. Despite all the new construction going on - highrise cranes everywhere - rents still going up. One BRs are now approaching $2000/mo right now! The fun begins.

Walking with clubs over shoulder, to L train, to Metra suburban train, to buses both in the suburbs and City. Seven vehicles today.

Too stiff still when I arose. So waited til 9am. Then rowed quite well; best time since mid-December. And only 10 seconds more than seasonal PR set last June. Significant negative splits:

2:12.7.....overall: 2:17.5

BTW results are posted for the Chicago Indoor Rowing Championships two weeks ago. And I DID establish a new CIRC record, which was the only new 2k record at CIRC this year. However three 'youngsters' broke existing 2k records in the 55-69 age groups. So my 2017 record probably won't stand for long.

Stiff and sore from the 10 miles yesterday. Particularly the quads. But it felt good to get back down to the basement for a light workout. Only have to do 9 more 5k rowing pieces in the next 11 days to meet the requirements of March Mud Season Madness.

Lakefront 10 Miler. Brrrr! Cold, raw, and snow still on the ground. Not the best time to be exposed to the elements for almost four hours, with bus/L train commute included.

But ran the whole thing. I was amazed. Only a 4 mile training run a couple of weeks ago. Unexpected cold, snow and ice cancelled any further training outside. But I've been keeping up the daily rowing sessions in the basement...and that seems to have given me unexpected endurance!

3:39 slower than last year. But not bad at all...considering. Only one other guy in my age group. So I earned 2nd Place! Compared with 4th last year! I'm not getting older; I'm getting better! :-0
