Thought about going for a short, easy run or a bike ride but in the end just kind of hung out enjoying the pleasant weather. Can't rush these things. Will probably try and sneak short runs in where I can over the next week or two. Doing the VT/ME run both Tue & Wed this week.

Hit up the TCRC Saturday run for some company to kick off the beginning of a long day on the trail. All the way down to King Rd in Columbia, where the trail ends. Had originally envisioned going all the way to the Airline Trail intersection and making it a 40 mile day but had no desire to run on pavement or Rt 6. So turned around at King Rd.

Decent run except I ran out of fluids with about 8 miles to go. I had brought my credit card planning on hitting the convenience store in Andover, but of course ran right past it and wasn't about to back track a mile and a half once I realized I was dry. So those last 8 miles were a bit challenging. But looks like my outbound and inbound splits were 10 seconds different - so that looks like pretty even pacing...

In an effort to save battery, I turned of Glonass satelites and switched to "smart" recording mode. So of course Garmin has me running about a quarter mile less on the return leg even though they are obviously the same damn distance...

3rd ultra of 2018 (all in training). Not really intimidated by going out and running 50km+ on any given weekend (schedule permitting). And aside from being tired afterwards, no real negative impacts. But 50km is a far cry from 160km or more. There be work to do...

Schedule calls for stepping up the running hours the next two weeks, but with numerous trips to Maine on the schedule for Anna's final crits, Fashion Show and graduation as well as likely jaunts to Rhode Island, fitting those extra hours in will be a challenge. May have to run more frequent, shorter duration runs, in which case todays run may be the last really long one until Pinelands in 5 weeks.
