Gym with personal trainer 57:00 [1]

Lots of work on the back/lats/shoulder areas but easy on tension or weight.
Felt good afterwards, just a little stiff.

Swimming 14:00 [2]

Just a dozen lengths to stretch out the shoulders. Mostly crawl, otherwise breaststroke or back paddle. Hot tub jets felt good on the hip and shoulder.

Note

Physio appointment with Bev to discuss what I am doing wrong that causes the shoulder to flare up at night. As I thought, it's a posture problem that I will have remedy with an Astra pillow or cushion so my shoulder doesn't rotate forward when sleeping on my side. Will try a few options tonight.
I also have to lay off the crawl and stick to breastbone until my shoulder gets stronger. So I all have to learn a soft frog kick to keep the hip quiet.

Walking 43:00 [1]

Felt lousy all day after another poor nights sleep. Had to double up on the painkillers to get back to sleep at 5am.
A short nap this evening and a good walk in the mild weather and I feel a lot better.
Off to the physio on Friday to figure out a non-drug way to get a comfortable sleep.

Gym with personal trainer 1:00:00 [1]

First session at the gym with Cody, a personal trainer at Movati. Lots of upper body exercises with tension straps and exercise machines incuding lots of work on the bum shoulder. Will have see how it reacts over the next couple of days.
Enjoyable having someone modify my posture and provide positive comments while I worked out. Kept all the weights and tensions in the low range to see how the old bits and pieces recover before the next session on Friday.
Gave me a list of all the foods that I love that I should avoid to decrease inflammation of the joints. ; ). Recommended that I try glucosamine tablets.
Bought some, but the pharmacist said there may be some intolerance in the form of upset stomach, etc. Just took the first one with some yogurt. O rats, I am supposed to cut down the dairy products!

Mapping 1:40:00 [1]

The trails were hard enough to walk without snowshoes so I covered an area in Pine Grove that had only been GPS'd by Alex. I was able to cover about 2 km of trail and adjacent woods - all of which were thick or thick and wet.
If the weather holds up I should get out again next week.
