Edinburgh street race - very long. No major mistakes but not a great run: knee painful and calves seized up: maybe should've worn hokas. Started steadily but sore legs meant i never got quicker... Went a long way round (+150m as it turns out) to #6 thinking i would avoid climb but lost a lot of time, walked up the slippery hill to #8. good to #9 but dithered to #10 and even worse to #11, then ok for a while but lots of peering at the map, which seems to have become more cluttered over the years. Got stuck in traffic trying to reach #18 and had to go the long way round to get out. 8th on the course behind Tam, Jack Leitch, Tess (49.59) and a pack of vets inc QH 51.17, Ray 52.01 and Patrick 52.03.
Running 1:00:00 12.0 km (5:00 / km)
Start times for big weekend published: last year on Arthur's Seat I started 1 minute behind Donald P & 1 minute ahead of Ray W, this year, by way of contrast, I shall be starting 1 minute behind Donald P and 1 minute ahead of Ray W...
...and now fixed :-) not sure what happened to Saturday's 2 minute start window though
