Sunday Apr 23 #

Run 46:13 [3] 5.3 mi (8:43 / mi) +499ft 8:00 / mi

Aerobic from the house, through the county campground and then out and back on Toll Gate. All the way past the bridge by the high school and almost to the crosswalk before flipping it and heading back.

Walked 5 to start, Z1-2 to 22:30, then 2-3 on the way back. Movin'

Saturday Apr 22 #

Run 1:08:12 [3] 6.69 mi (10:12 / mi) +2116ft 7:51 / mi

Aerobic from the house, up Ernie Maxwell to Humber Park. Tired this morning so pushed this back until after work. I'm sure I'm stressed from the looming promotional interview; I really want this one because it's a huge opportunity for the family.

Legs tired, not super motivated, but short on time so gutting it out.

Friday Apr 21 #

Run 43:59 [3] 5.01 mi (8:47 / mi) +499ft 8:01 / mi

A little sore waking up so put this one off to the afternoon to see if thing loosened up a bit. They did.

Aerobic from the house, through the county campground and then out and back on toll gate.

Walked 5 to start, then jogged out to 2.5 miles, then flipped it and back home. A bit hard up the hill from the High School just messing with a cyclist (same speed! lol).

Getting quicker.

Hiking 5:33:19 [3] 11.4 mi (29:14 / mi) +3522ft 22:37 / mi

BIG day in the mountains. TSS calculated off time and IF.

Had TJ drop me off at Marion MTN Trailhead with the plan to hike up to the PCT and then back into town. Marion MTN Trail is a total mess after the big winter we had, creeks flowing onto the trail, blow downs and leaner trees every 1/4 mile, cross county routes popping up, flags from winter routes still up and confusing people. I spent quite a lot of time blocking wrong turns and switch back cuts, diverting water, and flagging the actual trail.

Snow line is still 8800 feet, maybe lower depending on the direction of the slope. I threw the microspikes on between Marion MTN and the Fuller Ridge Junction.

Snow quit a little ways down from Marion/PCT junction. Lunch stop at Strawberry Junction, broke up the illegal fire ring AGAIN, then tromped down. Easily a dozen through-hikers, none of whom had spikes and all of whom blew me off. SMH. Can't fix stupid.

Water still pouring out of everywhere; the Marion MTN side is just stunning right now. Holy crap.

Tuesday Apr 18 #

Run 3:23:54 [3] 18.2 mi (11:12 / mi) +3558ft 9:27 / mi

Long run. Aerobic from the house, up Tahquitz view and over the south ridge onto May Valley. Through Johnson Meadow and down Keen Camp to Hurkey. Refilled bottles and headed back.

Trying to drink more, I think it worked, but I ran out with about 30 minutes left. Went through 80 oz, but pretty sure I needed 90. Maybe carry a 3rd soft flask in the pack for the return trip? Go to a hydration bladder for long runs?

Otherwise felt ok. Ran the whole thing, only walking to drink or to keep the HR down.

Just looked, PR by a couple minutes.
