UNO Camping Weekend: Blue Day 2

o-maps

1. +01:00Via parking lot and road. Turned off road before the green marsh, thinking that the non-green marsh I had just passed was the green marsh; crested little hill, was confronted with the real green marsh, sigh, back to road.
2. Via road.
3.
4. Pretty straight; nice faint-but-very-runnable unmapped old trail the last 200m before road.
5. NW to road, to big trail, around NW tip of pond.
6. Around NE end of pond; did not see beaverdam option, doubt I would have taken it even if I did.
7.
8. +00:15Looked for the knoll on wrong side of mini-reentrant/linear marsh.
9. Left of straight line at first, crossing cliffs/stream very near to pond, and followed wall to trail.
10. Just N of green marsh.
11. Virtually straight, and no hesitation thanks to top-of-hill contour features.
12. Unlike usual practice in this part of map, successfully used rock features to navigate this whole leg, since they were huge rock features.
13. Skimmed N of green marsh and S of pond.
14. Seriously considered beaverdam (unlike #6), but dissuaded by the brown line being broken on the map (and by skepticism that the course setter had tested the route). So, south of pond, keeping just high enough to avoid most of the green.
15. A little W of the straight line through some of the nicer woods on this map.
F. Rather than re-running the roads and parking lot, came back via the group camping pavilion and the trail by the canoe launch.
