| 1. | saw pg go swimming at the crossing, so i decided to cross somewhere else on the way, found the open areas a bit confusing. | |

| 13. | was with Hillary Saeger on most of this leg. I had planned to follow the boulders, but had drifted a little left, so we basically had very little to go by -- but Hilly sniffed it out. | |
| 14. | second time to this control was a disaster. should have continued to follow Hilly, who I thought was too far right | |
| 15. | went NW to aim to cross by the control. reached the creek at the island, but wasn't sure, especially as i emerged to see Susan running away from where I thought the control should be after not finding it. Still, after a minute of thought, decided to go where she came from and found it right away. | |

| 17. | with j-j for most of leg. I went all the way to the stony ground to the west of the control, but j-j cut off to the right and punched in well before me. | |

| 19. | was surprised to hear j-j's cough after me. evidently he had dropped off the trail too soon. Randy asked me if the control seemed to be in the right place. I thought I had taken a straight line from the trail jct to the big boulder, and then was surprised to see the control directly to my right, closer than I thought. The mapping there might not be quite right, but only by 20 m at the most. | |
