1. | took me a while to find triangle even I had a sense where I was supposed to go based on other folks who left before me and it showed on split. At the same time I did not wanted to sweat too much about this particular bobble because it's important to read into map and avoid major catastrophe
2. | Read ahead, decent execution
3. | small hick-up coming out of #2; for a split second I was considering route on left but I noticed grass was not mowed on left side, switched to right route choice. For a split second I was considering to try shortcut through buildings but saw a fence and decided to take around on left side
4. | while on mini-golf course I was thinking I might be on path but then I saw path but I did not feel like bush-whacking to get to path, continued on left till path
5. | Somehow I missed to see that trail going directly to flag because trail was printed under red line. Therefore I skipped down to trail on left side. Execution was good but running on trail would have saved at least 5 seconds
6. | Few hesitation points at trail junctions - just to make sure that I pick the right trail. Another one once I saw cabin but I could not locate cabin on the map. But I decided to start climbing up and saw the flag
7. | somebody punched before me at #7 and went straight. I decided to come back to path and just run it fast but whoever went straight made me look and check if going straight might be an option
8. | decided to go right, pick first trail going left but if I miss first trail going left, taking next left would take me to the flag. I did miss first trail on left and go to flag no issues
9. | I was standing and looking at trail I was supposed to be taking but had some kind of mental block. Part of it was that path I was standing on was paved however, trail I was supposed to take was not, however on map there was no difference. Also because I did miss first path going to #8 i think my mind was still trying to figure out what happened and I was cautious before moving forward that I am at the right sport. I rechecked flag number to make sure that I am standing at #8 before moving forward. Once I concluded that I am still on my course I took path to #9 without too much of other delays.
10. | Once I saw pond I knew where flag is - when I was going to start I gawked and I noticed flag by pond - and I knew flag location before hand.
F. | First I thought I'd be running on left but with spikes on it was easier to hug fence and lean on right side. I was thinking maybe I should even run through the building at one point but changed my mind as I was approaching building. I am glad I did because I would gained fraction of the second going through the building but only if nobody was in my way which would have been a big gamble. |
