hesitant starting out, took a few seconds to get oriented. "paved area" at end of road (start) didn't make sense... it was weedy & not real obvious, couldn't locate old logging track to SE, eventually just used the ditch/reentrant as a guide. Overall, my splits will be slower due to sore leg from injury 3 days previous and constant problems with vision/glases fogging in wet conditions.
2. Bad route choice
back to the main logging road. It is a long way around (at least twice as far), but I was scared of the brush & up & down navigating. A safe route, and would have been better if the logging track/ride the last couple hundred meters to the control had been more free of slash.

Did not follow plan
Took a chance

hit the road at small clearing due west from 12 (had aimed for larger clearing farther NE and planned to take trail from there. When I hit the small clearing, decided to take road to water plant instead of backtracking to trail (original plan). Didn't look like I could get betwen water plant & creek on right (steep slope, brush, so decided to go left, but still had to bust through thick brush. Should have stuck with original plan.
