Race Evaluation

Ran-it Granite: Sprint 2

Nadim

1. I was pretty tired after Sprint 1 and with 2 more days of racing to go, I decided ahead of time not to race too hard again. I ran steady to the baseball backstop and had seen the controll from a long way off.
2. I ran straight at # 2 and spiked it.
3. I stayed off the trail. It was easy crossing the stream a few times and going straight to the control.
4. I again stayed off the trail but stayed low, on the west side of the stream. I noted the on low rock as I passed it getting to the one with the control.
5. I ran straightish but wasn't thinking correctly. I expected the control to be beyond the trail and further west so I was a little surprised when I ran up on it. I guess the scale had me guessing.
6. I used trails getting there rather than go straight. I passed another QOC member.
7. I just stayed on the trail but admit some confusion as to which trail I was on. It led to some hesitation.
8. I ran straight and hit the reentrant just fine.
9. I was out of breath. I recall chasing Valerie Meyer and other people. I made slow progress but eventually caught and passed them. I was going to jump off the trail earlier than I actually did (at the man made object) but it looked too junky to be worth it.
10. I used the trail and came off at the bend.
11. +00:15I got a bit too far right as I climbed
F. I ran slower than I had on the first sprint since I wasn't being chased so closely.
