Race Evaluation

WCOC Paugussett SP: Red

Charlie

1. +01:00Ran past the trail and had to cut up through the woods. Got to the stream too early, too. Saw Lyn leaving the control.
2. +00:30Up the trail to the stream. Stopped a little short. Lyn had gone straight and we got there about the same time.
3. +01:00Stayed low, by the pond, and spent some time looking around one spur to the right.
4. +01:00Fairly straight, pretty good route, but stopped short when I got to the unmapped trail and tried to figure out how I could have gone too far! Yikes!
5. +01:00Couldn't read this area very well on the map. Stopped short (on pace and seeing a lot of dot knolls). Glen T. passed and I followed him.
6. Straight E, aiming for the NW corner of the big green marsh. Counted streams, then up the reentrant just befoer the marsh and straight in. Saw Glen T. pass in front of me near the stone wall just N of the right knoll.
7. +00:30Straight E, aiming for the big trail. Got hung up in the cliffs and green and Glen passed me. jumped off the logging trail to the big trail, and didn't see Glen again. Took big ttrail to second wall after path on right, then in along walls. Misread the control sheet and thought I was looking for the cliff just NW of the control.
8. Up the stream to the narrow trail through the green. Shortly after it bent right, thorugh the green and down to the little marhs on the line. Nice woods approaching control.
9. Straight. Couldn't see what was underneath the green. Stopped at the big cliffs just before the control and couldn't find them on the map!. Gari came by at warp speed. Followed him into the bag, but then he was gone.
10. Straight. Saw several of the stone piles on the way.
11. Contour. counted the streams. It was the biggest rock in the area.
12. Half contour, half climb. got into the logged area for quite a while. Slow going.
13. Down hill as fast as I could to the trail.
