1. | Headed north out of the parking lot. Go about 100 meters and decide I don't want to climb the steep slope. So, I head back to parking lot to the trail northwest. Up the trail (breathing a bit rough) to where trail curves north and just past the hill top. Angle into control. Hit it right on.
2. | Don't remember much about this one, so I must have gone pretty much straight to it.
3. | Down to the stream and trail by the letter P in Parker. Follow trail to R in Run and then cross to trail below control. See the rocks and climb up to control.
4. | Drop down to road and run it to the control.
5. | Try to go cross country to control, but I messesd up. End up on trail anyway and take it and then the Swamp Trail to the control. I especially like this area of Great Falls.
6. | Follow goat trail. Tried to convince myself that I had passed it. Climb hill at just the right place to hit the control.
7. | Blow this one!! Should have gone straight over the top like I usually do. I hardly ever consider climb when attacking a control. And I have climbed some big ones. Anyway, I tried to go around and ended up on trail to the left. Tale this up to trail below control and then in from there.
8. | Straight to it. | ||||||
9. | Another one with no problem going straight to it.
10. | Stright to it. Used the little 2 dash trail to make sure I was going the right way.
11. | Hit the trail a little to the east but make the right decision to go west a few feet and find the control.
12. | Trail to where boulders were below the control.
13. | Trail, but not paying attention and climb the hill where the first x was. Ended up on top a long time. Running out of steam.
14. | Just concentrate on the easy ones to get to the finish.
15. | Ran the trail by the water.
F. | "Sprint" to the finish. Jim E wanted to run in with me, but I didn't have much left in the tank. Did better than a week ago on a course with more climb. Though there was no snow on the ground this week... |
