Did not know exactly where I was when I can out to the open forest. Some Scandanavian guy asked me, but was upset when I could only narrow it down to 50 m.
4. +03:00Fought through a lot of dark green to get to the powerline. Then contoured along until I got to the stream and followed it up.
5. +07:00Made it to the road okay, but then was mistaken about my position and wrestled with dark green forest. Went around in circles until I realized I was in the re-entrant.
6. +01:00Ran almost due east. Hit the semi-open vegetation boundary then rockpile, then control.
7. +04:00Went east and hot the pond in the middle, causing me to run north-east. Got mixed up in vegetation and rockpiles until I finally found the control.
8. +02:00Hestitated on and off. Ran to the trail, past the junction, then in towards the control. ran down the spur right into the control.
9. +07:00Not a good leg. Got confused by the streams and intermittenet streams and fought dark green once again. (Before actually getting to the control.) Met Dave Innes and talked to hom for two minute - he swore the control was not just north of us where I thought it was (he had spent 30 mintes looking for it.) I looked south for a minute, then headed north and found it.
10. +02:00Ran on a compass bearing, ticking off features. Ended up a bit too north and hit the trail/stream junction. From there it was almost directly south east to the control.
11. Mostly on the trail, cutting through some reasonable thick green to get to the road, then right into the re-entrant.
12. South west run to the road as fast as possible.
F. Run in with Cathy Hayhow.
