1. | +01:30 | It all seemed so clear, contoured around the hillside, saw the stonewall N of the control and the cliffs to the S, but the flat spot I went to seems to have been just below the control. Stood there and scratched my head for a while before heading up.
2. | This was fine, more or less straight.
3. | S to the trail, then trail to the trail jct, then angled to and beyond the stone wall and straight in.
4. | +05:00 | This was bad. I was following the trail, having trouble seeing little things, got off it on the wrong side of the hill near the bend and followed along until I thought I would be seeing the control, but nothing looked right. I was looking at a stone wall to the E, but not realizing how far E I was. Eventually wandered back, bounced off the stone wall at the edge of a back yard and then executed it right from there.
5. | +00:30 | More or less straight, ending up a line low and confused as to why I didn't see it right away. Saw Clint heading down the hill toward my #6.
6. | +03:00 | Around the pond, up to the trail bend by the stone wall, but I was a little low when I tried to find it and wandered back and forth a while. Finally went right by the right rock before looking back and seeing it tucked in.
7. | +03:00 | Trail around, then left it too soon for some reason, ended up going along the stone wall and above cliffs, but seeing a lot more of both than I was expecting. Eventually thought I was maybe in the right place, and turns out I was, although it was a line lower than I thought it would be. Saw Clint again.
8. | This was fine, took the trails when I could, including the one that bends around to the east and avoids climb.
9. | Also fine, more or less straight. Studying the map pretty carefully until I looked up and saw the giant rock in front of me. Then I just had to figure out how to get around it. the 2M boulder was at least 2 Charlies high.
10. | +02:00 | Very weak. Thought I was going more NE than I was and came on the depression to the east instead. Convinced myself that I was at the rocky knoll N of there, thinking that maybe there were some slope tags indicating that was a depression. Took a while to puzzle out the stone walls, and then to just see the flag 50M away.
11. | Reasonably easy, saw the flag from 50M
12. | Very nice. More or less straight, running into a little more brambly stuff than expected, coming out where the trail goes up R of the cliffs, then trail L for a bit, contouring and climbing into the proper re-entrant, maybe a line too high, but I could see the flag when I got there and correct.
13. | Easy, just down the reentrant.
F. | Thought I could run more of this uphill than it turned out I could. |
