Pond Mountain WCOC Meet: Red

Charlie

1. Up the road, and around past the stonewall before heading in. Thought about cutting in earlier, but this was pretty easy
2. Got sucked up the hill a line to another charcoal platform that was under my circle.
3. Back to the road for a few hundred meters, then under the cliffs on the spur and straight. Saw the big cliffs, but took a moment to backtrack to the control.
4. On the path, past the bend, past the long knoll on the right, then straight. Saw the large greenish marsh off to the right.
5. To the cliff face just R of the line, then along hte trail segment, looking for the sharp reentrant.
6. Straight. Walking up the hill I saw Phil near the control, but he was on the roundabout way from 7 to 8.
7. Straight.
8. Straight, although I missed seeing the cliffs half way, and slowed down quite a bit to make sure
9. Down to the second trail at the stream, then left at the trail jct to the marshy area. Torqued my ankle pretty hard on the way. Saw the line of low cliffs to my right as I approached the circle, and veered right because I confused them with the ones L of the control. Turned up the ridge line and in.
10. Straight.
11. Along the trail to the double boulder, then across and looking for the flag
12. Straight, spiked it.
13. Straight.
14. Drifted right and into the reentrant, then crossed the trail to cut the corner onto the trail going uphill. Walked most of it. To the corner, in on compass.
15. Jogged to the nearest field, up to the trail.
