Race Evaluation

Scottish 6-days 2005: M55L

bl

1. +00:45tough terrain & tougher than map suggested enroute to 1 - st, up contours, thru VB, a bit to rt but saw cliff above 30m away
2. drifted R but cross wall, get in reent & go to top
3. +00:45 cross 3 reents on steepish hillside, got low to where flat, could up see yellow area where bldr was -
4. st out thru green w/ VB, & up, find reent, then rectangular green patch, & bldr just beyond
5. +00:20st using distinct green VBs - went to dot knoll first
6. +00:45N to path & around to yellow, onto spur - st would have saved maybe 0045
7. st, read everything - cliff, grn VB, cliff
8. st w/ open area offering good location - over top big cliff, onto spur
9. ENE to path, to jct, along open ride & VB, into area mapped as open but was overgrown - thick too! could have been a time sink!
10. st NE thru open forest, ride/path/wall jct, pick up drainage & folllow
11. st,fast, dot knoll 15 m fm rd - vs fastest of 2:40....
12. +00:50st, open, ck path jct, for some silly reason turned R on path, ran 50m & returned & cont'd S on correct path, to big/broad reeent
13. st - clean but fastest was 87 to my 108"
14. st, angle up hillside, cross path & was confronted with unmapped open but no time lost
15. st to path, over end of spur into reent
16. to path first - 10" slower than fastest
F. skedaddle - felt I should have been 67-8'; 28th for the day

Total Time Lost - 00:03:25
