Race Evaluation

WMOC 2006: M60-3, qual #1

bl

1. +01:30ridiculously conservative first choice - R path, atop wrong cliff, phew finally --
2. contour/path picking, easy fm closest jct
3. uphill, AP nearby control
4. contour, ignore trails - st fwd
5. short, st, last of the cliffs
6. worst of WMOC - no contours, green patches, req'd walking - was an early starter - ridiculous bail-out - bk in vicinity (0.6m rs) - but found due to another runner's presence
7. S to tr & to AP close-by
8. downhill, easy enough, sort trails
9. 9-11 - closely placed - detailed, req'd just about walking
10. ditto
11. ditto - only possibility was to lose time
12. one sig jct about 100m along - pick right tr, & then tr hop to correct control
13. more of same - intricate tr network that req'd "working"
14. ditto - toughish, so easy to pick wrong intersection - eg, downtown Malta - soon get lost but weathered
15. too close to miss?
16. thundering herd...
F. skedaddle.. C/C+ - close to 6' on #6, flat area with green blobs...could have walked fm AP in 2' - not motivated for good notes!:)

Total Time Lost - 00:01:30
