Frustrated
Unused to map

Went straight at it and ended up at Green's control in the ditch just like everyone else. Finally, after about a minute in Red Light mode, I saw Penny DeMoss run in and punch it down and to my left.
2. Hesitated
+00:10
Straight at it on compass, hesitated a bit when I got in the general area to make sure the contours all matched.
3. Bad route choice
Did not plan ahead
Left 2 and went North because the ditch/gully to the west of 2 looked tough to cross. Ended up crossing in a very steep area and then climbing to the ridge, but instead of folloing the ridge out to the road, I just continued to go straight and I humped it up the hill directly South of the control and then off the trail and on up the reentrant. Probably could have saved some time by taking the ridge straight to the the trail and then run the trail around.
4. Underrated difficulty

Bad compass work

Boy, did I blow it here. I thought I took a good bearing, but I ended up about 100 meters North of the control at Green's control. after floundering for several minutes, I ran east to the trail and relocated from there.
5. Ran straight at it. Went south of the marshes and used them to lead me to cairn and then to the pit. No problems, a clean leg.
6. Straight, a clean leg
7. Straight, a clean leg
8. Stayed on the high ground and ran the road to the curve where the root stocks are and then straight down the hill--a clean leg
9. Hesitated
+00:15
Hit the first trail east of 8 and went half-way down it then straight-lined it using the marshes and root stocks as check points along the way. Hit ditch NW of control and followed it to rootstock directly W of control then hesitated for about 15 seconds, looked at the land, and then headed east to the control.
10. Straight down to the bend in the road, then in a pace count and lookng for the ditches combo, cut into trail and followed it around to hill top, a clean leg.
11. +00:10Never found the trail, but that's probably because a branch had just mashed my right contact into the corner of my eye. Thankfully, the contact would flatten back out on my eye, but only about 10 minutes after I finished my race, oh well.
F. Tired
