Alaska: Dan & Anne's Orienteering: Red

kimballforrest

1. Trails to second trail on left, to clearing, direct to boulder - control was slightly misplaced
2. Direct to clearing then direct to reentrant - confusing and slow in last 300 m
3. Southwest to road, road to bend, direct, missed to left and too low, climbed hill and approached from ne
4. Direct - fun fast, rough map contact - great run!
5. Direct - never saw the wire
6. Aimed left of purple line and ran hard to trail, came out at sharp bend, down to yellow and then direct using south end of swamp for attack point
7. Base of hill to form line depression in green, climbed hill, found reentrant but then missed depression. Relocated to most southerly large clearing and attacked from trail junction near Xs. Confusing terrain vs mapping.
8. Direct - fun running - great features
9. Direct.
10. Direct- many boulders made this an easy leg.
11. Aimed right of purple line and just ran hard, crossed the trail between the boulders and hit the road shortly thereafter - further west than I planned. Had trouble finding Go control
F. Split isn't quite right, late punch of the watch leaving 11.
