Race Evaluation

US Champs, Day 2: Red X

Cristina

1. +03:00Stupid thicket. Pulled too high on the hill, hacked around the southern patch of green. Stubborness lost me time.
2. +01:00Again too far to the right.
3. +02:00And once again too far too the right. At least I was consistent. :-)
4. +02:00Misread discription as east side. Stubborness again.
5. +01:00Yet again to the right. Should have realized that the field was wrong.
6. Things got better from this leg on. Pam passed up the hill, never saw her again (obviously). Deliberate route, but nailed it.
7. Gaining confidence...
8. Still deliberate, not quite comitting ever, but no nav mistakes.
9. Started to think faster, pumped about finishing.
10. Moved faster here, using the big field to the right as a guide.
11. Feeling pretty good about the second half at this point.
12. +00:30Crossed the trail higher than I had planned (and thought I was doing) but recovered quickly. Not optimal.
13. Really feeling like I was getting in to the map.
14. +02:00Okay, slight bobble here - ended up on the feature to the right again. That can be prevented
15. I was actually pretty lucky on this one. Couldn't decide whether to aim far left or not, I guess the "right lean" cancelled it out, ended up just left in the big field.
16. This felt like a very long 150m.
F. Hardest finish sprint yet!
