Thought I knew where I was, but no control. Thought I'd gone too far so headed back. Realized I hadn't gone far enough so turned around. Figured I was too high so dropped down. Came to first reentrant and looked for boulder. Finally saw control up ahead. Ack.

No good plan, just wanted to stay above the control, which in hindsight isn't too smart. Knew where I was when I hit the trail and not again until I found the control. Was too short, then too low, then finally found it.
4. Tired
Went on straighter bearing than I expected; so when I came to the trail it wasn't the big one I figured I hit but didn't realize it until it started heading downhill. Quickly made new route plan: headed NE to next trail, took it along the rocks until just past the powerline, then down the hill using the edge of the rockfield (very distinct) to the reentrant just west of the control.
5. Bad map reading

Counted the rockfields as I crossed them, and went right through a platform, but then didn't go north enough and overshot. Had to backtrack. Saw several people leaving the control but didn't see the control until it was nearly in front of me.
6. Not too bad, just a bit slow.
7. Hit the platform about halfway and saw the control (and people leaving it) just a few steps further.
8. No attack point
Did not like map

Straight up the hill to the trail, ugh. Then on the trail a bit before cutting off across the first e-w trail and then to the southern e-w trail. Took that until the bend before the powerline, then tried to read my way in. As others mentioned, the green was gone. I ended up being too high and had to carefully drop down through the rocky stuff.
9. Spiked the control, but was going very slowly and cautiously. For once today, I was paying attention to the terrain.
10. Very slow down the rocky steep bits, then slowly on the trail. Very tired from two hard runs already this weekend and the heat didn't help. A bit to the right of the control but it was visible.
11. Tired
Just slow.

So tired I was checking off stuff I didn't need to; drifted right from the straight line and added to the distance I had to run.
F. Tried to run hard.
