Race Evaluation

Rocky Mountain 1000 Day: Blue Day 2

Tundra/Desert

1. I had a perfectly clean run with no mistakes, not much hesitation, and little interaction with other runners since I was the first starter. On the second long downhill leg, I may have taken a slightly disadvantageous route, and I did stop on the leg to the last control. On the first leg, there was an unmapped trail out of the start. I didn't understand it, and after a short while trying to follow the trail just bailed to the main forest road, where Stanislav R, who started on Red at the same time, also went.

4. I teamed up with Stanislav on this leg, who also had the same control.
5.

7.
8. I had to stop just before the control to identify the rock features.

13. I was slightly out of control on this leg, but saw the bag upon hitting the correct creek one rock to the right.

15. Eric Bone probably had a better route, following the map-boundary wash as much as possible and then going directly up a side wash.

19. I really liked my safe route, going all the way around on the main road.
