L Upper Leg, Hamstring Pain

2005-11-29 - 2006-10-07

severity grade: 3

Mild pain started 2-days after a dark, rainy, puddly 4xmile interval workout. After 3 weeks of very slowly reduced training, it continued to worsen until it hurt even when not running. Never severe, but the downtrend was bad.

In late Dec./early Jan., some PT (ultrasound) and lots of eccentric strength have allowed some very , very limited running to begin again with no increase in pain.

2/15: Possibly ischeal tuberoscity is the source of pain - perhaps due to hamstring tear at that point??

Deep tissue work + light running, 2x/day seemed much more helpful than various PT strengthening things.
