better get this in the books since it lasted a week, knee is stiff, but runnable, not sure what I did to it, I think with the switch to forefoot striking and combo with downhills on the jog commute, and cold weather, the repeated impact on the front of the knee joint is causing problems; this is the knee with the 5mm cartilage missing; feels like that sort of pain, which resulted in the visit to the ortho and threat of surgery 2 years ago; hopefully will not come to that, but should keep an eye on it; too painful to do squats

knee is better, I think strength training and lower volume and intensity helped.
