Inside right knee. Hurts most when I bend the knee (squatting is painful). Similar problem to one in April-May 2004. Started after descending Pico Naiguatá on 9th April. That year it went away on it's own after a few weeks. I hope the same will happen this year as I don't fancy trying to find a good physical therapist in Venezuela!. Wearing a knee brace helps a bit.
Update (19 June 2006) - after 2 months it's not really better, although I can run and hike if I wear a knee brace. Bending the knee is painful (crouching is the worst).
23 July 2006 - It's been worse recently, and now I've discovered it's a torn meniscus. I'm not officially allowed to go running until it's improved, but at least I am still allowed to go hiking. I've been given some exercises to do to see if it improves, but otherwise it may require arthroscopic surgery.
30th October - partial medial menisectomy
13th November - recovering from surgery and regaining flexibility and strength with exercises prescribed by physical therapist
Torn medial meniscus. Needed arthroscopic surgery to sort out.
